Got Sleep?? 9/26/2009

I did! It was definitely A LOT better than the night before. Hopefully we can go for two nights now. Keeping my fingers crossed. I wanted to write before she got up. She was fed around 6:20 am this morning, so she’ll be due around 10. The doc said she could go 4 hours, so that’s what I”m trying to do. Although, she can be pretty demanding. LOL I got a good night’s sleep. Matt woke up around 6 and since I had pumped some milk last night, I asked if he would feed her since I had been up with her a few hours before. Of course, he was all about it. After he changed her diaper and I fixed her milk, she was quiet and I was back in my bed asleep. MMM, I love our bed. It’s soooo comfortable. LOL.
Today, we are having one of our friends stop by. She’s one of the pilot’s wives. She’s bringing over a shepherd’s pie. Sounds yummy. We’ve had a couple people call and bring food over. It’s been so thoughtful of them and we  really appreciate it. I brought her up to the base the other day and the guys were so happy for us and complimenting on how beautiful she was. They were all surprised when they asked me how the labor was. I told them it was easy, which it really was! They were like, “Well I’ll just tell my wife that you said it was hard so she’ll feel better.” haha I love Matt’s co-workers. They are so great and when we have a get together for some occasion, I just love going. It’s always so fun and entertaining. I enjoy them so much.
Last night we took Bayleigh out for a short walk. I would have love to have gone farther, but we were worried about mosquitos, since they have been bad for a couple of days. It’s been raining some, so that has brought them back. UGH. That is one creature I don’t understand why God created them. LOL But whatever. He did for some reason. Our neighbors stopped and looked at Bayleigh and said she was just so precious and gorgeous. I just love our little girl.
Tomorrow is our 2nd doctor’s visit. I’m not looking forward to that. They have to do the heal prick. So hopefully I can hold it somewhat together while she’s screaming. My heart just starts breaking thinking about it. I know it’s for her benefit, but still it’s hard to listen to your baby cry.
Well, I’m going to go try to crawl into bed for a few more minutes with my hubby before Miss Bayleigh Boo wakes up. He’s got a night flight tonight so he doesn’t have to go in until later this afternoon. :)

Lazy Saturday 9/29/2009

Today was definitely a lazy day. My mom flew back to NC this morning, so we were up by 630 am since her flight left at 830 am. Plus Bayleigh was up and ready for breakfast. Luckily, the airport is only like 20 minutes from the house. We have literally done nothing today. When we came back from the airport we watched the movie Push. We rented that last night. We probably should have gone back to bed since Bayleigh was asleep, but we didn’t. After that I went and laid down for a little bit and woke up to Bayleigh crying. Daddy was trying to comfort her, but she just wouldn’t stop. She had been fed at 10 a full 3 oz so she wasn’t hungry. After she ate, she was wide awake. So she was just fussy and fighting the urge to sleep. Finally around 2 I got her to sleep. I eventually just had to put her in her crib and let her cry it out. I swear that is one of the hardest things to do. Listen to your child cry and having to just leave them there. But nothing was working when I was trying to put her down. She would go to sleep for like 10 min and then wake up crying again. So, I had to resort to that. After about 15 minutes she was out.
Now, Matt is feeding her. We’re trying to figure out something to do tonight. Just to get out of the house. But then again, we’ve been going pretty much for the past two weeks, so I guess it’s good that we are just staying around the house. The place is kinda a mess, but I think tomorrow we’ll be cleaning and getting our house back to normal.
Next weekend, Rachel will be here! Yay! Can’t wait. I think we’re going to go out and watch our friend play in his band. It will be the first time that Matt and I will be able to go out TOGETHER to watch them in a LONG time..and actually have some drinks. :) Rosie will be coming over to watch Bayleigh Boo. I hope I can stay away for a couple of hours. I’m already stressing about it. LOL But I know Rosie will take care of her. She already has a daughter who is just too cute, plus she is expecting a little boy in October. Rosie and I are work-out buddies and we’ve already made a pact about watching each other’s kids whenever one of us wants a date night or what-not.
Here are some updated pics of our Bayleigh Boo. IMG_0428

Tired, but a better day

Well, last night got better. I guess Bayleigh had gas. Poor thing. She just wouldn’t stop crying. We finally gave her some gas relieving medicine and my mom rocked her to sleep. I had been rocking for a couple of hours and had just had enough, emotionally that is. I hate not knowing what is really wrong with her when she’s crying and there’s nothing I can do about it. But my mom got her to settle down and I went to lay down…and cry. I was just so emotionally tired. But after a good nap and waking up to find Bayleigh comfortable and sleeping, I was a lot better. So I fed her and finally got her to sleep again around 1:30am.
We woke up this morning, well I did around 9:30am to Bayleigh waking up. She got up every 2 to 3 hours last night. She’s had some nights where she’ll go for 4 then others every other hour it seems like. Anyway, after I fed her she was just wide awake. Looking around with those pretty blue eyes, taking in everything. She is just so cute.
We went to the mall today, but didn’t get anything. I am still hesitant to buy clothes. I have slimmed down a lot in the last 11 days. But I want to get toned before I start to buy new cloths. My tummy is almost back to it’s normal size. Now just got to work on the abs. Matt and I cannot wait to start P90x…well, we have to get it first, but somebody has a birthday coming up…;)
Well, I must go. Bayleigh is crying. Update more later. :) Have a good evening.

August 12, 2009 (8/17/2009)

2:30 am
As I lay in bed thinking how early it is and how it really feels later in the morning to me, and the fact that I have the urge to pee, and are having cramps, but don’t want to get out of bed, I eventually talk myself into going to the bathroom….
2:40am
Wait a minute, that trickle feeling doesn’t feel like I’m peeing….
Oh boy, I think that’s my water…
I walk over to Matt and say, “Babe…babe…hunnie bunnie (trying to wake him lol) I think my water just broke.” Matt’s response, “What? What time is it? Are you sure?” LOL He was so out of it. I told him that I was pretty sure b/c it didn’t feel like going to the bathroom. So we start getting things together and head to the hospital. On the way, the first person I call is Rachel. “Hi la, ummm I think my water broke, tanks. We’re headed to the hospital.” She was all excited and hopefully that helped take your mind off things Ray. HAHA As we are getting out of the car, I am definitely positive I’m going into labor. My contractions are becoming stronger as we started walking up to check in.
I get situated in my room and they check me and say “Yup, your water definitely broke and you are at 3 cm and 89% effaced.” I was so excited to hear this. Then, of course, my hilarious husband goes “3 centimeters what Jeremy?…dilated?….Dilated, that’s right. Stay with me were a team here.” hahahahahha The line from the movie Knocked Up. If you haven’t seen it you should. Hilarious! I just started laughing so hard. He always knows what to say at the perfect time. He’s such a goof. I still laugh about that just thinking of it.
Talking to my mom                                                                              Sportin’ the bugs like Rachel. :)

Anyway, as soon as I’m hooked up to everything I call my mom. She was bummed that she was coming early b/c she wanted to be there for the birth. I told her sorry, but Bayleigh was coming today. Matt called his mom and she got up right away and booked a ticket to get to the hospital from Lubbock so she could be there for the birth.
Around 6:30 am, I am done trying to deal with the contractions. I’m pretty stubborn and was trying to see how long I could go without the epidural, stubborn and competitive side of me, but after a couple of hours of trying to deal, I told the nurse to go ahead and pop the meds in. Unfortunately, Matt couldn’t be in there with me, but it’s ok. I’m tough. :) He left for about 30 mins while the anesthesiologist gave me the medicine. Let me tell you, as soon as I was fully numb from the waist down, I was sooooo comfortable. LOL My legs were like jello. LOL It was a crazy feeling though to not be able to move the lower part of your body. I was 4 cm at this point. When my doctor came in around 9 something, she said they were going to give me a small dose of pitocin (sp?) b/c my contractions had slowed a bit. I was also given oxygen for Bayleigh’s sake b/c her heart beat kept fluctuating a little bit. Nothing to really be concerned about, but the nurse said it was just for her benefit. They were also a little concerned b/c they thought the cord may have been wrapped around her neck. So they pumped me with some fluid to see if they could float it off, so to say.
Around 11:30, they checked me again. The nurse thought I was around 6 or 7 cm, so they said they wanted me to push a couple of times just to moved Bayleigh down a little bit more. At 11:50am, my doctor came and checked me out and said, “Wow! You’re at 9 1/2 cm. We can go ahead and start pushing.” I am so excited at this point. Matt and his mom, which she got there at 1030 am, we both ready to see her as was I. As my doctor is getting ready, I am doing a couple more pushes before Bayleigh’s grand entrance. At 12:00 pm, my doc asks for me to start pushing for the real thing…..
12:06 pm, the most gorgeous God-given miracle is in this world then placed into my arms. Bayleigh Elizabeth Gully came into this world at 6 lbs 13 oz and 19 inches long. I am just in tears. I’ve never seen something so overwhelming, so beautiful in my life. Matt, I think, was just in total awe of her. He was just quiet, watching her as they took her to clean her up. His mom is snapping away with pictures, which I am so grateful that she took so many, b/c I was able to see Bayleigh’s birth. Thank you Dana! Love you! :)
Hello my beautiful girl..                                                                                     Proud…and sleepy Daddy :)

After she is wrapped and bundled, she’s placed into my arms and my emotions are just running. She is just gorgeous. The nurses were commenting on how beautiful she was for just being born and that she scored a 10 on her APGAR test (?? Didn’t know what that was) but they said that is a rare score for babies and that it was the highest score they could give…so she was just as healthy and perfect as she could be.
We finally came home on Friday around lunchtime. Her first outfit was my outfit that I was brought home in from the hospital when I was born. My grandma smocked the dress herself. Kinda a tradition thing I wanted to keep. She was so precious. It was sooooo nice to be at home and to see my dogs. I was actually worried for them the night we went in b/c no one was there to let them out to potty in the morning. LOL I’m such a dork. But we got our neighbors to go over so they were ok. :) I was so glad to be in my house and to relax.

Today, things are going great. We are trying to get on a schedule and it’s been getting easier every day. I still tire out easily, but I love to just sit and hold her. She just smells so good and is just so tiny. Matt just adores her. We call her our Little Bayleigh Boo. She’s starting to sleep 3-4 hrs and I am able to relax now that I’ve gotten used to her being in her crib. I was so paranoid at every little sound that she made. But it’s getting better and I’m able to sleep when she sleeps at night. She is just so cute sleeping. She’s such a beautiful baby and so many people just cannot believe how cute and tiny she is. She is such a beautiful baby. She has just stolen my heart and Matt’s. Well, I’m going to go for now. I’m going to go rest and she is going to be up soon for a feeding. I will write more maybe tomorrow.

Definition of "Perfect" 9/21/2009

IMG_0408
My Little Miss Bayleigh Boo. Words cannot describe how wonderful I feel and how she is just beyond perfect. She is such a gorgeous baby. Non-stop compliments. Matt and I couldn’t have made a more beautiful baby. I just stare at her for hours.
Tonight was the first time I actually had to sit by and let her cry. She just wouldn’t go to sleep. She had been fighting it for a couple of hours. Matt and I, unfortunately, had to just put her in her crib to just cry it out. She wailed for a good 15 minutes before I went in there to soothe her. As soon as I picked her up, she calmed right now and within 5 minutes, was asleep. And now, as I’m writing this, she has started crying a lil’ bit again. I’m just going to have to let her cry a little bit. She is stubborn and won’t give up. LOL Sounds like me! She is just really tired. I feel so bad for just leaving her there, but I’ve tried everything and she just won’t go to sleep. Well, maybe she will. She just drifted back off again. :)
Well, just wanted to put up a picture and show everyone how beautiful my daughter is. She’s a “Gerber baby” as the doctor and nurses called her.

The Days Just Keep Coming and Nothing... 8/7/2009

Well, I am getting so impatient. I’m 2 weeks away from my due date, the 23rd, and it’s just killing me. I feel like nothing is happening. I mean, I’m having contractions, but nothing serious or anything that’s showing signs of actual labor. Bayleigh is still moving, but her movements have gotten a little slower and I’m not sure if I should go to the doc about it or what. I mean, I’ve had friends and have read myself that if that happens it usually just means that it’s getting pretty close. I guess I will say something at my next visit on Wednesday.
Man, today is just not my day. Just having one of those days, ya know? I feel really emotional today. I just want to cry. I guess b/c I’m just so impatient and there’ s NOTHING I can do about it. LOL I just want to finally see her and bring her home. Then it’s almost like I’m going to feel like…now what? I’m positive I’ll be pretty active and she’ll keep me busy, but after a few days of settling back into the house I’m going to want to go out with me and her dressed up and show her off. I’m not one to wait when I’m excited about something, and I just want the world to see my beautiful little girl. I guess that’s how every new mom feels though. I just hope I can be patient when she comes home and with myself. I have always been one to push myself to the fullest, but I know I’m going to need to let my body rest. Matt will probably have to tie me to the bed to make me sleep. LOL Which I will probably be able to get a good amount of rest b/c my Mom and Matt’s mom will be down with us for a few weeks. So that will be a big help with things around the house. I just hope the dogs understand and that they don’t stress me out. They will still be my babies, but the first few weeks they are going to be taking the back seat.
I am so lucky to be where I’m at today. I think today is the first day in a LONG time that I have just felt upset so to say. I’m just ready dag nab it! But like my bf’s blog says, you have to thank God for everything in your life and for the way it’s happening. It really is a part of His glorious plan. Well, enough nagging about things. Just had to vent today. I am so blessed. Thank you God! Any day though God, would be FANTASTIC! :)

Fish Fry and Card Games 7/27/2009

This past week has just flown by. I keep feeling like these past few weeks are just going by so slow, but in all actuality, they are just zooming by!
On Tuesday, my mom flew out that morning. It’s always hard to see her leave. We have such a good time together and I know she wants to stay down here more than anything since Bayleigh is so closing to coming into this world. But she will be down again in a couple of weeks, hopefully before Bayleigh is due. Which reminds, me I need to buy her plane ticket today.
On Wednesday, Matt’s parents and grandparents came over and stayed with us until Friday. It was such a great time. The dogs were actually really good for once. LoL. When Thursday rolled around, the guys…Matt, Mr. Gully, and PoPo, all got up real early to go on a fishing trip that Mr. Gully had planned for that day. Matt was so excited. They caught a bunch of fish, but only kept a few. I know that Matt was so happy to spend some real quality time with his dad and grandad. Some of the fish that they caught we’re really big. They came home with only a few, then cleaned them and fried them. Dinner was so good, although I didn’t eat any fish. I’m not a fish person really, except for tuna. So they had fried chicken for Melissa and I. Melissa is Matt’s cousin that just had her baby girl back at the end of June. Since I only worked from 9-2 that day, when I got home Grandma, Mrs. Gully, and Melissa were playing cards…Golf to be exact. This is such a fun game. I absolutely love playing this when we visit them. We all get real competative about it and there’s so much anticipation with it. I can’t even tell you how many games of it we played. Needless to say, I think we’re addicts. Haha. we also played Mad Gab, which is just hilarious to listen to others say what’s on the card and they have no idea what they are saying sometimes. We all had such a great time together. I can’t wait for Bayleigh to know so many wonderful, loving and just genuine people.
Speaking of Lil B, we have a doctor’s appointment Thursday. We get our last ultrasound. CAN”T WAIT!!! Now that I’m 36 weeks, I am just basically waiting around for her to come out. I try to stay active as possible..ie walking, helping Matt with the lawn, doing things around the house..just whatever I can to help speed up this process. LOL I went to the mall the other day with Matt and there is a new store that has opened up, and OMG there were so many cute clothes, cute SHOES (I have a shoe fetish!!), jewelry, purses (jewelry and purse fetish also!), belts..etc etc. I was so bummed b/c I couldn’t really buy anything….just yet…tehe. Plus I haven’t been shopping in a while…a LONG WHILE. So I am so ready to have Bayleigh and go ahead and start her early with the whole shopping experience. :)
Only 2-4 more weeks. Things are just going so good and my life is just so perfect to me. I am the luckiest girl in the world. :)

1 cm and Counting 7/30/2009

I just got back from the doctor’s…I really like my doctor by the way. She is so sweet. Anyway, we got to get an ultrasound of Bayleigh and of course, she was stubborn as ever as the tech was trying to get a good 3D picture of her. The ultrasound tech is just so nice also. I’m so glad with the staff at this place. I just can’t say enough. Anyway, we were poking and shaking and I was rolling on my sides, anything just to get Bayleigh to move. She also had her hand in front of her face…lil stinker…it’s like she KNOWS when my shirt comes up she better hide. LOL But everything is good with her; heart beat sounded great, she’s still has long arms and legs :) , and she weighs approximately 6 lbs and 1 oz. So she’s kinda small, but I kinda figured that. I’m sure she’ll grow like a weed and be tall like her daddy. :)
Speaking of daddy, poor Matt was up all night last night flying. They got a SAR case around 8 o’clock to look for two older guys that had gone down. Well they had to stop and refuel in Beaumont and get some more information about where to look and then they were off again for another 3 or so hours. He text me at 5 this morning saying he was coming home. The crew is only allowed to fly 6 hours total. That is the allotted time they are able to fly before the bring another crew in. It’s just safety b/c after that much time of flying you get mentally drained and it’s just not safe. So needless to say really, I was happy he was coming home and crawling into bed with me for a few hours before we headed to the doc’s.
After the ultrasound, I had my regular visit with my doc. She checked my cervix and said I was dilated 1 cm and that I should have my “show” in a week or so. My face just lit up when she told me that b/c here I’m thinking that I’m going to go into labor like next week. LOL However, she said that after the “show” it could take a couple of weeks for me to actually go into labor. So poo, but I’m still hoping. :)
We have our baby shower Saturday with our friends from here. I’m so excited. It’s going to be so much fun. My girls have planned for some fun/funny games for the guys. We’re expecting a good turn out…30-40 people possibly. We can’t wait for everyone to see the house and to see Bayleigh’s room. Matt and I are just so proud of her room. :)
I will keep everyone posted in the upcoming weeks. Keep your fingers crossed that she’ll be early. HaHa!

Our 3rd Shower and Lil B Update 8/5/2009

A HUGE thanks to our friends for putting on such a great shower for us. We had such a wonderful turnout. It was so much fun. We played games and had some good laughs. The first game we played was the baby food eating contest and let me tell you, that was hilarious. We blind folded the guys and fed them a whole jar of baby food. It was the funniest thing watching their faces. I think the funniest was my boss, Frank. He was so competitive, but he got sick afterwards. It was hilarious. He said he needed a beer and he’d be ok. HaHa. We also played the poopy diaper game. Everyone went around smelling “dirty” diapers. (They were really filled with melted candy bars and they had to figure out what kind of candy bar it was.) So fun. We received so many gifts and cute clothes. Everyone had such a great time and it turned out so perfect. The cake was just the BEST. It came out so good and the colors were just PERFECT. I love it. I just wish we had more people to eat the leftovers. It’s still in our kitchen. Hopefully we’ll be able to eat it. It is really good, but I just can’t eat a lot of cake. And it’s probably the last thing Bayleigh needs….all that sugar. LOL.
Towards the end of the shower, Shad, Stacy’s husband, asked if we could let the dogs out. OMG, add more stress to my life right now! LOL J/K Shad. Our dogs were actually REALLY REALLY good. I was so proud of them. One of the officers brought their 2 year old daughter and Ace and her were just having a ball. I was so proud of him. He would smell her face and such and she would grab ahold of his big old lips and that tongue and he never flinched or anything. It was the cutest thing. While he was drinking, she would be trying to play in his water bowl. He’d stop drinking and look at her, then look at his bowl, then look at her again like he was saying “Hey, whatcha doing? You’re supposed to drink that. That’s my water bowl.” LOL Hannah was her name; she would actually try to get in the bucket…we have a painter’s bucket for his water bowl just b/c he drinks so much and gets it EVERYWHERE. LOL It was just the cutest and funniest thing. Then another incident that I was so proud of Ace was when Hannah started running in the backyard and she fell. Ace had been chasing her, but she had just fallen on her own and Ace just stopped and looked at her like, “Hey, you ok??” Oh man he is going to be soooo great with Bayleigh. I cannot wait. :)
I just want to say a big thanks to Stacy, Shad, Jess, and Tracy for putting on such a great shower. I am so blessed to have such good friends in my life. Everything was perfect. You guys did such a great job. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!
I went to the doctor today…nothing new. :( So here’s hoping something will change this week. But I’m still healthy and she said that Bayleigh was awake whenever she listened to her heartbeat. I figured she was b/c she was having the hiccups right before then. Matt said the funniest thing when she had the hiccups. I said “Look she’s got the hiccups.” And he goes, “How do you know she’s got the hiccups? She could just be pop, lock, and droppin’ it.” LOL Geez I love my husband. haha. My contractions, so to say, have gotten stronger. Nothing to make me go to the hospital though. I’m so hoping something happens this week or weekend, but we’ll see what Lil B decides to do.
(I will post some pictures of the shower later.)

Travel Time 7/17/2009

After work today, we will be on the road to west Texas. First we will go to his sister’s house and load up with her and her son then carpool the rest of the way. I’m so excited to be getting away, even if it is for a quick, a REAL QUICK trip. I wish we could stay longer to visit with his family. I just love getting away from the house when Matt and I can go together. We have such a good time and we both love the country, so we really try to take it in as much as we can when we get out of the city.
We dropped the dogs off last night with everyone and it was so nice to come home to a quiet, dog-free house. It’s going to be nice to travel without them also and not have to worry about them while we are staying with other people. They are in good hands and everyone just loves them. They are always complimenting about how funny and good they are. My only concern is with Booger and Cookie..aka Bill. haha. They like to mark their territory when they are at a new place. They are best buds, but are just like 2 brothers, who one min will be playing and running around with each other, then to fighting over a toy or a bone. It’s kinda funny after we break up the fight b/c they never really hurt each other. It’s a lot of noise mostly, but it’s just like geez guys. CHILL OUT! LOL But we love them and they are so cute together. They really are best buds. Cookie is always right behind Booger and they both always have their nose in something. Awww I miss all my babies. haha
I’m so glad my mom is here. She brought the curtains for Bayleigh’s room. They are definitely pink with white polka-dots, but it really brings the room together. All we have to do now is just get the necessities for Bayleigh…ie mattress, changing pad, bottles, pumps, etc, etc. Other than that, everything is done. I cannot wait to see what she will get this weekend. I”m so excited about it. I think I was stressing a little yesterday, just because we don’t have ANYTHING other than the big stuff. LOL But I know after this weekend and our baby shower here with our friends we will have everything. My girlfriends have been so great with planning and getting things ready for the shower here. Thanks y’all! I can’t wait for that also. It will be so much fun to have people over at our house to see it finally all decorated and I cannot wait to show off Bayleigh’s room. I just cannot wait to put her in cute clothes. Why would anyone NOT want to dress their little girl up is beyond me. Very BORING and PLAIN to me. Guess I’m just into style and fashion and looking good. haha. I just love to dress up! That’s going to be so much fun with Bayleigh we she gets older. I CAN’T wait. She’s going to be stylin’ and profilin’ yet be one of the biggest tomboys, just like her Momma. :) She’ll be kickin’ butt is sports, love fishin’ with her mom and dad, love being outside and on horseback for sure, and still love to go to the mall and shop and wear make-up and jewelry. OOOO I just can’t wait. I’m going to have so much fun with my little girl. :)
