Christmas in July and Grandpa!!!

Yes, I have started to bust out the Christmas music...already. Haha. It's kind of habit for me this time of year. I can't believe it's 6 months already until it's Christmas. And one more month and Bayleigh is 1 year old. What the Heck?! Where has time gone??? I haven't had Christmas music on since this past Christmas. So I am ready for the holidays again.
Matt and I have been talking a lot lately about where we would like to move when it's our time to leave here. I told him that I really want to try Michigan. Traverse City that is. I love this warm weather, but I want B to experience how much fun the cold weather is and SNOW! And by the time we move there, she would have a blast. I think it would be so much fun. We talked about Alaska some, but they stay TOO cold for us all the time and too wet and rainy. Plus, that is WAAAAAY to far from family and friends. We still have Mobile, Pensacola, and Savannah in mind. But it will all depend on engineering and if he gets it, and also what's available at the time to chose our top 5. So we'll see.
She had another bad night. Those teeth are really pushing through. I am going to run to get some Motrin and Baby Orajel as well. I just put her down for a nap. She went to sleep with the bottle, and as soon as I put her in the crib BAM she's awake. UGH! But I am just going to have to let her deal until she goes to sleep. At least she's not crying though. But I have got to get things picked up and the guest room fixed up because......
GRANDPA WILL BE HERE THIS EVENING!!!!! YAY!!!
He's coming to visit and help Matt put up his pergola. I can't wait to have that up. It will make sitting outside more enjoyable in the heat. I will document. I know I have slacked with pictures and videos. We just can't seem to find a memory card that's empty. So that's another one of my chores today..clear memory cards. Of course, most of them are just full of nothing but Miss B. I have been brainstorming a lot on a scrapbook for her but just can't get in the mood and I don't have all the supplies necessary. Plus a scrapbook requires pictures and I don't have any printed out. Well I do, but I've got to go through them. I hope to start soon. I just feel like every time I get a moments peace something in the house needs cleaning up or I just want some time to myself to read since I love to read my books.
Ok well I am off to eat some cereal then get busy. It's quiet so I hope B has fallen asleep. :) Love to all! ♥ K

Correction

Miss B has 3 teeth coming in. Not only does she have her front right tooth and the tooth next to it, but she also has the left tooth coming in next to her left front tooth. Poor thing. She has been coughing, sniffly, and cranky. I feel so bad for her. Most of the time though, she is all over the place and happy. :)

2 Toofies Coming In!!!

That's right! Matt and I just noticed that B has two teeth coming in. First is her right front tooth and along with it is the tooth that's right next to it. She's going to be so snaggle toothed..haha. Just thought I would share that real quick. :)

DADDY'S HOME!!!

Matt was able to come home early today. They had a SAR until 230 am then had to leave a first light to go back out and search for the missing person. It was a girl that was on an anchored bar out in Lake Conroe and she decided (drunk decision) to jump off the bar into the water. Well that's when they got called. No one saw her and Matt said that they were using the sonar computer thing on the CG boats around the bar to check to see if her body was under water. No such luck. Matt came home around 930. But he's only gotten two hours of sleep. I hope the CG will be able to find her.
We went for a walk this morning with Miss B and the dogs on some trails down the road from us. We didn't walk too long b/c it's already hot as blazes out and the dogs were panting pretty heavily. So now we are back at the house cooling off and trying to get B down for a nap. She had a HORRIBLE night last night. She woke up at 11 something and wouldn't go down for an hour. She wanted to be held so I held her and she would stop crying and be content. Well as soon as I put her in her crib it was back to crying again. I left her in her crib b/c I am just a stickler for not getting in that habit. B/c when Mommy doesn't get any sleep, Mommy has ZERO patience the next day and I hate feeling grumpy with Miss B b/c she's so happy and funny throughout the day. Well 230 rolls around and we are at it again. I try and hold her for about 10 min thinking she'll go right back to sleep. NOPE...again as soon as I laid her in her crib she was awake crying. Now, I don't think anything was wrong with her b/c when I would pick her up she would stop crying. If there was something wrong, I would have held her more to comfort her. But I'm not going to play that game of wanting to be held for the next hour b/c Mommy has to get some sleep. So she cried until about 340. I finally went back in there. Held her for another 10-15 min and tried to put her back down. AGAIN, she cried but this time I think she was so worn out she cried herself to sleep within 10 min. Then I get a text from Matt at 530 about him headed back out to fly. OIY! Yet again, I am awake. LOL But I always want him to text me and tell me when he's flying. It's just our little thing we do and we tell each other "I love you." Then Miss B woke up at 730. Mommy had NO patience. However, once I got my coffee in me and she had breakfast we were both feeling A LOT better. She looked so bad this morning though. Puffy eyes, boogers all over her face. I felt bad, but I just am going to have to ride this out. The only reason, like I said, I don't do more is b/c there is nothing wrong. If she was still crying when I held her yes, I would have stayed with her. But I just do NOT want her getting into the habit of being held just because she wakes up.
Her other top tooth is coming through. I think that might be some of the problem. Tonight I'm going to give her some Tylenol before I go to bed. It's starting to break through her gum, so I'm sure that might be an issue.
It's back to work for Koda today. I'm excited. She's had more of an attitude now that she's been off for two weeks and I am tired of it. But she does seem to be doing a lot better and feeling better too.
Well, I am off to read. Matt is taking a nap and so is B. I cleaned my house pretty good yesterday. Still got some more areas to do...cough cough...my bathroom. LOL Well, my side anyway. Have a good day ♥ K

Yet, another cold

Ugh! I swear, just when Miss B gets over a cold, here comes another one. So now I'm sterilizing everything in the house and getting down to the nitty gritty with cleaning. I DON'T want her sick for when we go to South Padre. I hope she can get over this quickly. Once again though, still happy Miss B. Smiles and all. She's been a little fussy lately, but I think it's because her other tooth is coming through. So now we should start looking a little more even on that top row of teeth. LOL She's so cute.
I woke up at 645 this morning...Matt has duty...again...on a holiday. UGH! Yes, I'm annoyed with it, but I have to keep looking towards the South Padre vacay coming up soon. I don't know what Dana is going to do with herself with both grandbabies there, but I know she'll be plenty happy. :)
So I'm going to give Bayleigh meds that we have left over from a previous cold; hopefully it will keep her comfy and help this one pass quickly. I just hate having to wipe her nose all the time and I know she gets annoyed with it too. I think she does realize that it helps her, yet she just gets annoyed with how much I have to do. I get annoyed too. I hate that sometimes she'll just be dripping.
Well, I am off to clean. I started/HOPEFULLY can keep my routine back up again. I just got back 20 min ago from going for a walk with Miss B and taking the dogs. Having another cup of coffee as well. But going to start drinking water from now on, well except in the mornings, with the occasional Mountain Dew here and there. :) hehe. Then I hope to go for a run tonight. When I went to the doctor recently I found out that I weighed 129...whooohoooo! I was happy to hear that. Yet, I need to tone. I know I keep talking about it, but this time I actually got my butt up and out the door and stopped making excuses for myself. B is sleeping through the night now so I am getting enough sleep. Just got to get used to getting up when Matt leaves for work so I can get stuff done before work, well at least on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Hope you all have a good start to your week. ♥ K

Herpes

LOL! That's gross! haha. This is what my horse has. Literally. However, it's not the herpes that you're thinking of. She has Equine Herpes, which is pretty much the same thing as Shingles in humans. It has affected her nerve endings so everything is very sensative and painful. So movement is a big issue b/c everything hurts. That's why she was pinning her ears back at me every time I asked her to do something. The doctor did say that this is a common issue and can come on with stress, new place, new owner or workout. I was reading up on it and it was saying its kind of like the chicken pox disease. They USUALLY get it once and still have the virus after that, but don't actually have the symptoms. However, like I stated a few sentences above, it can be caused from stress as well. Also, her annual vaccines help prevent it. The one that prevents it is the Rhino vaccine. So she due for her shots in August.
Right now we have her on some Lysine twice a day. The doc said that he was 80% sure that this will get rid of it then I shouldn't have any other issues and be able to go back to giving her a good, sweaty workout. He does want to do a follow up on her b/c he did say that she does have a bit of a stifle issue in her right leg. It deals with the knee joint, but he was pretty positive that that problem was b/c she is just a weak horse and needs to build up those tendons, ligaments and muscles. He also said that I should see a huge improvement with her and her attitude in about 2 weeks. He said that herpes takes about 2-4 weeks to completely fix, but definitely at two weeks notice major improvements. :)
I'm really happy that it was nothing serious. She's a good little horse and a very sweet horse. She's so smart too. Once we get back to working out I am going to have to stay one step ahead of this little mare. :) She has started to "snuggle" next to me when I'm petting her. And she actually came up to me the other day from the pasture when I called her. Made me really happy. I feel bad for her though b/c it has been raining NON stop for the past 2 days and all the horses at the barn have been stalled so I know she is anxious to get out and stretch and move. It's sunny today so hopefully Charlotte was able to turn them out, although I don't know b/c of the conditions of the pastures. We'll see.
Ok well, I just thought I would update you with my horse's problem. Thought it was kind of funny in a sense. Have a great weekend! ♥ K

She wore an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini...pictures :)

clinging to Daddy at first
isn't her suit just the cutest with the hat?!
Look at those blues...I swear they are getting bluer by the minute
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture of the two of 'em.
Dana, this picture looks JUST LIKE YOU :)
blues and feather lashes...we are in SO MUCH TROUBLE...
Gettin' sleepy but still cute as a button

Dana, we can't wait to see you too and I'll be sure to give Miss B a BUNCH of kisses from you! We are so excited about South Padre! :) Love you!

The Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka-dot Bikini

On Father's Day we went to the Y with Miss B. She looked so cute in her bathing suit...hence the title. She was unsure at first b/c they have this huge splashing waterfall thing there and it was loud when it dumped water, but after she realized we weren't going over to it she was OK. We played in shallow end with her. When Daddy took her in the first time she was clinging to him like there was no tomorrow. When she realized that we weren't going to let her go she relaxed. She didn't really do too much, just looked around and watched all of the other crazy kids running and laughing around us. I think it was too much for her to really enjoy it. Eventually she did start splashing a little bit. We took loads of pictures. Matt called me the Crazy Picture-taking Mom...hahahaha. I was, but she was just too stinkin' cute in her bathing suit I just couldn't resist.

We made it over to the deep end (3 feet :)) and pulled her around a little bit. She liked that a lot. Like I said, I think she would have enjoyed the whole experience more if it weren't for all the commotion going on. So we are going to join our pool, which is right around the corner from us and there are hardly any people there. Plus we can use her floaty toy that we got for her. We couldn't use it at the Y...liability..dumb rule, but whatever.

Anyway, I think she's getting sick again. She had a HORRIBLE night last night. Worse one since she's been born. She was crying so hard around 1030 to about 1130-1145. Nose was running, she was stuffy. I didn't know to do. I gave her some Dimatap cold and congestion and that helped until about 5. I felt so bad for her and frustrated b/c I was by myself. Matt got called in last night for the night so I was by myself. I got more frustrated b/c I didn't know what to do for her to help her. That is the worst feeling. This morning however, she was happy-go-lucky Miss B. We gave her some decongestant medicine this morning and it has helped. I think it's allergies though. It just all of the sudden hit yesterday. We went out to the stables in the morning and she was playing with some hay. But she didn't react right away to it or anything like I do. So that's really the only thing that I can think would be the cause of it. Still not 100% sure, but we're going to start using Benadryl.

I will put picture of our pool trip up this evening of our pool trip. Unfortunately there are no smiling was..like I said, too much commotion for her, but they are still adorable. ♥  K
